Give Back to Yourself.

15-Minute soothing meditation practice for rest, sleep, and naps.

Hello friend,

May you unapologetically nurture yourself. Full stop. Read that again.

Take the time, take the space, and set boundaries for whatever you need in order to give back to yourself. A good time to start? Here. :)

With a soothing inhale and exhale offer yourself a little pause between thoughts. Let each exhale be a “gap” to do to nothing. To be. To rest. Even just for a few seconds.

“Life is the flower of which
love is the honey”- Victor Hugo

Sometimes nurturing ourselves can be found in the simplest things.

It had been a few cloudy gray days here but the sun had finally broken through the clouds. I found a few minutes between meetings to lay down on the grass. Blue sky, sun on my skin, my dog snuggled up beside me, the sound of happy birdies…

A little bee flew down right beside me. I moved her from the grass onto our cement patio beside me and she stopped to rest for a moment. She turned her head to each side deeming the space safe enough to be. The wind blew strong enough to push her back a bit but she rooted her feet into the cement and waited for the wind to let up. And then she began. Bowing her head down and rubbing her front legs through each antenna. Over and over she’d dip her head down brush her leg over her antenna until she decided it was time to move to another area of her body. Then tending to her back legs. Rubbing them together and brushing them up against her front legs. Over and over again. The fuzzy hair on her body started to fluff out and the tiny hair on her legs was standing up now. Her wings were shining in the sun as she’d dance around nurturing and caring for her body. This vessel that would carry her from flower to hive. To me, it seemed like there was not a care in the world for this bee. No judgment if she was worthy of taking care of herself before flight or questioning if it was a waste of time. It was necessary.

I watched her and what I kept thinking was, why don’t we tend to ourselves this way? Unapologetically.

May you find a moment of pure guilt-free nurturing. You deserve to rest. As mentioned last week, rest leads to healing.

Love always,

Lauren
